Veggie Turkey Burgers

As I have mentioned in a million other posts… It is so freaking hard to get my family to eat healthy!!! So, once my 5 year old got onto a burger kick, I decided to start hiding veggies in them. This sounds disgusting… but trust me, THEY ARE SO GOOD! Now, he even knows what goes in them (and doesn’t complain!) and he helps me make these delicious Veggie Turkey Burgers! I promise, these are a sure hit. Not only can your family get a healthier burger by using turkey instead of ground beef but the zucchini and squash help you get those veggies that you’re probably missing out on if you’re anything like me. Even my husband loves these bad boys and he’s a picky burger eater. The best part is that these are super easy and quick to cook, which is a total must have in my chaotic home with 3 littles. Prep time is only 5 min or so and cook time is only 18 min. Can’t beat that!


1lb ground turkey (the leaner the better!)

1 zucchini squash

1 yellow squash

1 tsp of each- pepper, garlic salt, onion powder (feel free to add more to taste)

First, preheat your oven to broil. Then, use your favorite food shredder and shred the zucchini and yellow squash. Next, throw everything in a bowl and mix it evenly. It will be super slimy and that is totally ok. Flatten the mess into burger shaped patties and throw them on a pan. They’ll look a little like this.


Appetizing, right? Maybe not yet.

Broil them for about 9 min, flip, then broil another 9 min on the other side.

There ya go!

They are done! Throw them on your favorite bread with your favorite toppings and you are good to go. They are insanely delicious and good for you too. I hope you love them as much as we do, Enjoy!
